Patent Potpourri - An Evening with Prof. Siebrasse

Professor Siebrasse will discuss highlights of several articles he has recently finished or which are in progress. Topics will include contributory infringement and the “but for” test for inducing infringement; overbreadth; injunctions for complex products; and the impact of the UK Supreme Court decision in Actavis UK Ltd v Eli Lilly and Co [2017] UKSC 48 on the Canadian law of claim construction and the doctrine of equivalents.

Norman Siebrasse is a Professor of Law at the University of New Brunswick. His research focuses on patent law, particularly pharmaceutical patent law, patent remedies, and the intersection of intellectual property law and commercial law. His blog, Sufficient Description, comments on recent Canadian patent law cases. His writing, including his blog, is regularly judicially cited.
